I was introduced to Georgie's by a friend that told me that I would never go anywhere else for lunch. I tried the much raved about Cuban sandwich, and all I can say is WOW !!! I am hooked for life- you must give it a try, as it is hands-down the best sub I have ever eaten. I have taken many of my friends there, and they all have come to the same conclusion- the Cuban is the best sub in Rochester, Period. The staff is always friendly, the breads fresh daily, the pastries are awesome, and you can't find a better Cuban anywhere. Try it, you will love it. They also have authentic Cuban rice and beans, pork, and fried chicken that will make your taste buds sing with delight. Do yourself and you co-workers a favor- take them to meet George and his family, they will welcome you and provide an excellent meal. They are family owned and are located next to Milt and Rons transmission shop and are across the street from the Southwedge Diner. Try the Cuban once and you will be hooked for life! Thank you George and family for the wonderful authentic food that is simply the BEST !!!!

BEST CUBAN IN ROCHESTER OR MAYBE EVEN NEW YORK STATE. Wow, I work off of Goodman and a co-worker told me about this place. I called in an order for a cuban sandwich and was excited to find a place that makes them in Rochester. The last time I ate one was in South Florida in 2006. BEST CUBAN EVER!!! The pork was falling apart juicy and seasoned perfectly, the swiss cheese, and pickles were crunchy and not soggy. You could literally taste every layer of the sandwich. Not to mention it is huge and my mouth felt like a party was going on. I will be a lifer now and try everything on the menu. Thank you!

OMG....I went into your restaurant to try the cuban. A friend had suggested we try your place as we lunch in the South Wedge area several times a week, but usually stick to South Ave. You are not kidding when your menu states "Rochester's Best Cuban". Your sandwich is totally deserving of that title. Can't wait to come back for another. It was absolutely delicious. Thank you for an incredibly wonderful meal.

This is a belated rave for a visit for Cubano sandwiches shortly after Christmas. I wanted to take my out-of-town friends to someplace "special" for lunch, since I had been to Georgie's before and loved it each time. We were greeted at the cash register by a very friendly woman who made us feel instantly at home. We all ordered Cubanos, and when they were brought to our table, it was pure delight: the bread was great: crusty outside, soft inside and totally tasty. The sandwich meats and dressing were perfect: tasty, moist and gently spicy in a way that made us happy. On the way out, we brought some bread and had a nice chat with Georgie himself. This is one exceptional restaurant: food that is hearty and makes people happy while they are eating it, and people who make you feel incredibly lucky for having come in to eat at Georgie's. Please keep up the good work! In a city where too many restaurants are boring, snobbish, tasteless and overpriced, Georgies is a shining star: fun, friendly, tasty and very reasonable.

Had my first Cuban at Georgie's last April. Amazing! I raved to everyone where I work about that and the Quesitos.
Came home and made my own quesitos, but won't even attempt the Cuban Sandwich.
Going back up this week, hoping to move to Rochester this fall. Can't wait for another Cuban!

Today was my first experience at Georgie's and it will not be my last. I had the Cuban sandwich, fries and his Mom's hot sauce. The Sandwich was unreal....fresh baked bread and his Mom's sauce was the perfect complement to it. Georgie is the type of owner you want to give your business to. He brought out free samples of desserts and rice and beans... and those were cooked to perfection too.
